Im a little late putting up these pictures, but its better late than never. My parents flew to Canada to pick up Jeff from his mission at the beginning of March and they had some spare time so they came down to get me so I could be with them. I had a lot of fun seeing my mom and dad and my little brother again. Jeff showed us around Vancouver and some of the other cities he served in. It was a very beautiful place. I can see why he spoke Korean, there were so many Asian's up there.
Jeff remembered that I love lighthouses, so he took us to one that is at a place called Point Atkinson. It was really tall and there was at least one eagle flying around while we were there.
We also went to a place that had a suspended bridge over a river that had a few waterfalls and pools.
We went to the Korean ward with him on Sunday and they were very kind to us. They gave us head phones so that we could hear sacrament meeting translated into english. We really appreciate them and how they took care of Jeff. The last place I went with them was the temple that was being built in Vancouver. While we were there he saw a couple who he knew, so we stood out there in the freezing cold while they caught up on what was going on with him. I had a really good time hanging out with my mom, dad and brother. I keep telling my friend Kara that she should get her passport so I can show her how beautiful Canada is. Maybe one day we will take a trip up there.

Kara and I went out to lunch on Saturday because I have been stuck inside sick for the past 3 days and then on our way back to her house she decided that she wanted to show me a city called Manchester because you could see Seattle from there. We could only see the view while driving so I didn't get a picture of it, but then we decided to go to Manchester State Park while we were there. On our way to the park we saw an eagle, deer and a couple camels. Yes, I said camels. We couldn't believe our eyes (they were on a farm of course) it was weird to see camels in 40 degree weather. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the eagle but I didn't have my camera out at the time. There is an eagle that Kara and I see almost every morning when she takes me to work maybe I should get a picture of that one.
After a couple of turn arounds we made it to the park. When we got there we headed out on the walking trail and ended up finding a way to get down to the beach because the tide was low. We were trying to decide if we were suppose to be down on the beach, but we never saw a no trespassing sign or any sign that said to stay off the beach. We were hoping to see some tide pools as we got closer to the water. It was slippery on the rocks and of course clumsy me kept slipping while Kara just laughed and tried to help me. To our surprise there were a lot of tide pools within all the rocks. These are a couple of pictures of the starfish we saw. There were actually a lot of them on the rocks. This picture is of me trying to poke at something that we thought might be an octopus, but I couldn't get it to move, so we figure it was just another starfish. As we walked further down the beach all of the smaller rocks started to have little barnacles on them. This is a brick that we found out there that looked really cool with the barancles all over it. We had a great time walking the beach, but then we realized that the tide should be coming back in so we headed back to the car. I had such a great day today. I could walk on a beach for hours and not get bored. I'm so greatful to have a friend that likes to do some of the same things I do.

I am having a lot of fun here in Washington. When James came home he introduced me to a few of his friends. I spent a lot of time with one of them and his name is Adam. He and I decided to go sight see in Seattle one Saturday morning. We took a ferry over to Seattle where we walked all over the city. We went to Pikes Market Place and watched them throw fish and tried the free samples throughout the market. Then Adam decided he wanted to go see the Music Museum (they had a huge tribute to Jimmy Hendrix there), so we walked through the city to the monorail station where we boarded the train and took it to another part of Seattle where the Space Needle and other attractions are.
When we got to the Music Museum I thought it was going to be so boring because I do not have that much knowledge about music and I don't have appreciation for some music. But I have to say that I really enjoyed it. There were displays where you could read the information, but then Adam realized that there were people walking around with iPods, so we went to find out about them. Adam listened to music on the iPod while we walked through and I listened to the extra information they had about the displays on the iPod. I learned that there is more than one type of guitar that make different sounds. I've always just thought there was a guitar for country artist and there were electric guitars for rock artists, little did I know there is so much more about guitars that I didn't know. Anyway, because of that museum I now have a different appreciation for music.
The next day after church we decided to go walk around a beach called Point No Point. It was the last day that I was going to see him because he was going out to sea. I love going to the beach and just walking along the water. It is so calming to listen to the surf crashing.

Now that Adam and James are gone Kara and I hang out like we use to before the guys came home. We decided to go to a little town called Port Gamble where you can supposedly see sharks in the water. I was so excited and when we got to the little old town we weren't even close to the water. Oh, well we had fun looking around in all the little shops. We found a cute little place to eat dinner in the next town over called The Grub Hut. Here are a couple pictures of us there.

BREMERTON, WASHINGTON

I have made it to Washington! I landed in Seattle, Washington on January 2, 2009 and started my internship with the Kitsap County Prosecutors office on January 5, 2009. I am living with my friend Kara and her husband, James in Bremerton, Washington while I am doing my internship.
So far this adventure has been great. I have to say I can't believe I actually moved out of state away from my family and friends. It is hard at times because I miss my family and friends so much, but it has strengthened me to know that I can make it on my own.
I went to a family ward the first couple of weeks while here and they have been very kind to me. But after much searching through the singles branches out here, I have decided to go to the Mullinix Singles Branch.
While here I have passed the time with reading, watching tv, going on a date, walking dogs, Wal-Mart shopping, working, and much more. I can't believe I have entered the blogging world, but I am very excited to learn how to use this program.
(Pictures are from the top of the hill in Port Orchard where I work.)
